DATE
2024-08-29

On August 29 (Thursday), Ambassador Ham Sang-wook visited the United Nations Postal Administration (UNPA) at the Vienna International Center to commemorate the issuance of special stamps celebrating Korean cultural heritage on August 15. Each year, the UNPA, in cooperation with UNESCO, issues stamps commemorating UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This year, the stamps feature Korea's proud heritage sites listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including Hwaseong Fortress, Jongmyo Shrine, Jeju Volcanic Island and Lava Tubes, Dolmen Sites, Bulguksa Temple, and the Sansa mountain temples.

During the visit, Ambassador Ham met with Korean nationals receiving briefings on various UN organizations based in Vienna, where he also explained the significance of the special stamps celebrating Korea’s cultural heritage.
